Sound Properties


Amplitude
        The amount of energy in a wave.  From the crest (or trough)   to the mid-line.

Crest
     The highest part of a sound wave

Trough
      The lowest part of a sound wave

Wavelength
     The distance between the point on one wave and the identical point on the next wave

Pitch
     The highness or lowness of a sound

Frequency
      The number of vibrations that occur in a second (or other unit of time meassurement)

Volume
     The loudness of a sound.  Meassuered in decibels.
