Magic Cup, created by the Greek Mathematician Pythagoras
Pythagoras was a mathematician in ancient Greece who developed our understanding of geometry. The Pythagorean Theorem (a mathematical law) states that in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse (the opposite of the right angle) is equal to the sum of the other two sides.
So clever! so if you put mercury at the bottom and water on the top it would have stayed because it doesn't have enough pressure pushing down. Right? Really brilliant! :P -Dhruva B
I really like it because it shows different substances in a liquid state have different properties, I didn't know liquid metcury was more dense than water!
I want one of those cups :C. I think those are made up of gold. Also yes, I arleady knew Mercury was denser then water because it could turn into a solid harder then ice.
